Can You See an Expired WhatsApp Status? How the 24-Hour Limit Works

How WhatsApp status expiry works
A status is a temporary post — a photo, video, or text — that stays visible in the Status tab for 24 hours from the moment it's published. After the window closes, WhatsApp removes it from the Status tab for both the poster and the people who could view it. There is no archive, no "history" section, and no way to reopen an expired status inside the app.
Can you view a status after 24 hours?
No. Once the 24-hour window passes, the status is gone from WhatsApp. The poster would have to re-share it for it to appear again. Anyone who tells you there's an in-app way to recover expired statuses is describing something WhatsApp simply doesn't offer.
What about my own old statuses?
WhatsApp does keep your own previously posted statuses in the "My status" area as a kind of history for you to re-share from — but this is for the poster, not for viewers, and even then the posts are no longer "live." It doesn't help if you're trying to look back at someone else's expired status.
